Mission Trip to Dominican Republic 2022

Within these past 2 years, our economy has unexpectedly changed around the world have significantly impacted our economy right before our eyes. The hardest hit affected the country of Haiti where we normally conduct our annual mission trips. In the wake of President Jovenel Moise assassination on July 2021, the country experienced an increase of impoverished conditions and even more chaos.  Moreover, many Haitians began to migrate to the Dominican Republic as a means to escape the poverty and the gangs in Haiti.  As our annual give back must resume, it is now with a twist. Despite of the pandemic and inflations in the United States, we must continue to do God’s work. We had the pleasures to bridge the gap with Haitian natives that have migrated to Dominican Republic to seek an opportunity to survive.  Haitians that have transitioned have no other choice but to take jobs as workers in sugar, coffee, and cocoa production. Increasing numbers are also engaged throughout the country in construction, domestic work, and the informal sector. Haitians are the poorest members of Dominican society at this time.

This November 21, 2022 in Dominican Republic Lakaysehaiti Inc & Naji Foundation Inc. have collaborated with the support of volunteers ranging with a diverse talent in psychology, education, medical, cosmetology, and construction to assist in alleviating some of the  Dominican Republicans. We donated money for legal documents, provided food, school supplies, undergarments and build a his and her bathroom and shower facility without plumbing systems from scratch.
